The R.O.C.K. is a senior design project developed in partnership with the Army Research Office (ARO) with the primary goal of ensuring the safety of soldiers. This innovative project showcases cutting-edge technology and design to address the protection and security needs of military personnel in the field.
My contributions to this project include:
Collaborated with a team of ten and a client to design and manufacture a standalone three-tiered sensing system that detects and launches a tracking device at an approaching car, reducing operational risk for deployed soldiers
Used C++ and a Teensy 4.0, I created algorithms to integrate all electronics, including the analog firing system, analog power conservation system, microphone, Jetson nano, camera, and ultrasonic sensor
Responsible for the long range and short range sensing systems, system integration and unification, waterproofing and dustproofing up to IP6X, PCB design, as well as the design of the sensor mounts
Using fast fourier transofroms I calibrated an off the shelf mircophone to pick up on the frequency of an approaching car from up to 200 feet away.
